At SoundLincs, we are passionate about harnessing the power of music to transform lives. Our latest projects exemplify this commitment, focusing on communities that gain significant benefits from creative engagement.
Springwell Alternative Academy
We are proud to work across the five Springwell Alternative Academy sites, engaging young people excluded from mainstream education. These high-impact music sessions are integrated into their classroom activities, providing primary and secondary students with instrumental and production skills. This initiative, funded by the Academy and Lincolnshire Music Education Hub, helps foster creativity and confidence in students facing unique challenges.
Lincolnshire Secure Unit
In Sleaford, we run weekly workshops at the Lincolnshire Secure Unit, a secure children’s home. These sessions offer a safe and creative outlet for exploring music production and a variety of instruments. We are also excited to help revive their small studio space, creating new opportunities for musical exploration and expression within the unit.
HMP North Sea Camp
At HMP North Sea Camp, we are introducing a music programme tailored to residents, many of whom are on the autism spectrum. Under the UpBEAT! banner and supported by the Virtual Autism Hub, our sessions use music not only for creative expression but also as a unique approach to teaching basic maths skills through Multiply sessions. This project highlights the versatility of music as a tool for both learning and rehabilitation.
Each of these projects showcases the transformative power of music, fostering growth, learning, and hope in diverse settings. We are excited to continue making a difference through the universal language of music.
