Supporting Young Minds Through Music

We are delighted to announce that SoundLincs has been awarded three years of funding from BBC Children in Need to launch Lincolnshire's first Children and Young People's Social Prescription Service.

The service will use the power of music to support young people aged 10–18 experiencing poor mental health, loneliness, social isolation and other barriers to wellbeing. At its heart is a simple idea: that music can provide a positive, meaningful way for young people to build confidence, improve their wellbeing and connect with others.

Each young person will receive personalised support shaped around their interests, strengths and aspirations. This could include one-to-one music-making, group sessions and opportunities to connect with creative and community activities across Lincolnshire.

By providing a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space, the service will support young people to develop their confidence, build meaningful relationships and take positive steps towards better mental health and wellbeing.

We are incredibly grateful to BBC Children in Need for this support, which will enable us to build on our experience of using music to improve wellbeing and make a lasting difference to young people across Lincolnshire.
