SoundLincs’ Connect suicide prevention project evaluation demonstrates significant impact.
The Connect project provided critical support for individuals transitioning from acute and rehabilitation mental health wards into the community, targeting suicide prevention during periods of heightened vulnerability. Research highlights that patients recently discharged from inpatient mental health wards are at greater risk of suicide, particularly in the critical days and weeks following discharge. By integrating musical interventions, SoundLincs offers creative, supportive, and evidence-based approaches to enhance recovery and reduce suicide risk.
Since April 2025, SoundLincs has delivered 249 music sessions across 10 wards and 8 community locations, and analysis of this work has shown clear and lasting benefits for participants’ mental health and wellbeing.
