Meaningful Occupation Through Creative Health

We’re delighted to have been awarded £15,000 by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, administered by Shine, to expand the Skills Development phase of our Social Prescription Service.

This funding will help people experiencing poor mental health, social isolation and barriers to community participation to take the next step in their journey – developing skills, confidence and opportunities that can lead towards meaningful occupation, volunteering, education and employment.

The Skills Development phase is the final stage of our integrated creative health pathway. Participants will already have engaged with earlier stages of the programme, building confidence, improving wellbeing and developing social connections. This additional funding will enable us to deliver 84 further in-person skills development sessions across Lincolnshire, alongside two showcase events.

Sessions will include advanced DJing, music production, songwriting, guitar, singing and drumming, shaped around participants’ interests, strengths and aspirations. Alongside creative development, participants will build transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, organisation, problem-solving and working towards deadlines.

For those ready to take their next step, the project will also provide Music Facilitator training, creating potential pathways into volunteering, peer support and employment within the creative and community sectors.

This investment strengthens an established pathway and addresses an important gap: helping people move beyond receiving support towards developing skills, pursuing meaningful goals and making a positive contribution within their communities.
