soundBOOST was a creative music making project for young people in Lincolnshire and Peterborough. The young people invited to join the project were already working with these organisations:
– Looked After Children Education Service
– Barnardo’s Lincolnshire Services
– Lincolnshire Secure Unit
These organisations worked together with soundLINCS to boost the life chances of young people living in challenging circumstances or facing a difficult change in their lives. Where possible, groups were encouraged to organise informal performances so that friends, families, carers and supporters could see and hear what they had been doing.
soundBOOST aimed to involve as many staff as possible from each organization in the music sessions to experience music making as a powerful way to support young people and boost their confidence, knowledge and skills. Staff were offered the opportunity to become trained as an Arts Award Advisor so that young people could be supported to achieve a Bronze or Silver Arts Award.
soundBOOST was funded by Youth Music, Lincolnshire County Council Looked After Children Education Service, Lincolnshire Secure Unit, and Barnardo’s Lincolnshire Leaving Care Service.
