Download provides creative, fun and accessible whole class ensemble teaching activities through the use of Music Technology. The programme is ran by a partnership between soundLINCS and the Lincolnshire Music Service through the Lincolnshire Music and Arts Education Hub. It provides classes with 12 weeks of regular sessions for pupils and their teacher, as well as specialist training time for teachers.
The focus of Download is to explore Digital music making through the use of computers and iPads and the music software loaded onto them. Download also helps teachers and pupils to learn more about associated musical skills such as composition, live recording, sound editing and mixing.
A recent phase of Download explored the idea of a Diary for each of the 7 schools that participated throughout the 12 weeks. Each school created original tracks that contained a range of pieces such as music, sound effects, and the voices of pupils singing, chanting or speaking.
