Perfect for: Ages 3+

What is it? This app is designed to let children explore sounds and music. There are lots of different nursery rhymes and characters that can be interacted with.

Why do we love it? This is great for children to explore elements of music in a fun and inclusive way. Children can sing their favourite songs, such as Old MacDonald, and interact with their favourite characters and animals. The app is a great way to encourage music making and enhance enjoyment.

 


I Read Rhythm Lite (Free iOS)

Perfect for: Ages 7+

What is it? This is an app which explores rhythm and how it is read on a traditional stave. Snippets of music can be played and there is a section where different styles and levels can be explored.

Why do we love it? This is a great way to explore how rhythm looks next to how it sounds. There are lots of opportunities to explore different genres which may be out of your comfort-zone. We think this app can really improve your overall music reading ability, and it’s free to begin with!

 


YouTube Kids (Free iOS)

Perfect for: Ages 3-8

What is it? This is an app which is controlled by parents or guardians to make sure that their children are watching the correct content. It allows children to watch playlists that are fun and engaging.

Why do we love it? This is useful for all videos and not just music related ones. However, with this functionality, parents and guardians can guide their children to watch videos about music, such as nursery songs that are interactive. Overall, this is a great way to start a child on a musical journey.
