The members of MUSIC:LINK, the Lincolnshire and East Midlands music information service, have come together to show their appreciation to the departing committee, as soundLINCS continues to develop and grow the 30 year old service.
Keith Jobling, the former Chairman and Membership Secretary, Clive Morrison, former Events and Website Manager and Claire Morrison, the former treasurer of the service, have all stepped down from their roles in the past two years, which had left MUSIC:LINK facing closure until soundLINCS secured its future last November.
Following numerous generous donations from the membership of almost 200 groups, organisations, music teachers, performers and individuals, they were presented with gifts as a show of appreciation for their long and dedicated service by soundLINCS CEO Nikki Kate Heyes MBE.
MUSIC:LINK provides monthly diaries of events as well as a membership directory of music groups, teachers, venues and other members. It aims to make music more accessible and relevant to people across the region and promote interest, participation and study of all kinds of music. MUSIC:LINK also provides an essential ‘anti-clash’ diary enabling member venues to avoid putting on similar events at the same time.
Nikki-Kate Heyes MBE, soundLINCS CEO said: “Over the last 30 years it has been the dedication, passion and the hard work of the committee that has made MUSIC:LINK such a unique and invaluable part of the music scene within Lincolnshire and the East Midlands. In our short time in charge we have quickly realised how engaged and supportive the membership is, as shown by their generous donations for Keith, Clive and Claire. With them supporting us there is a brilliant opportunity here to build and take the resource from strength to strength.”
Retiring Chairman Keith Jobling said: “It has been moving to see the generous donations and kind messages of thanks coming in from the members of MUSIC:LINK in the last few months. Over the past 30 years the three of us, and so many other individuals who have so kindly given their time, have overcome some tough challenges and had some great times to help maintain and grow MUSIC:LINK across the region. We hope to see it continue and thrive for many more years under soundLINCS’ management.”
MUSIC:LINK is always looking for new members. Membership is available for individuals and organisations, giving access to the directory and monthly diaries, opportunities to advertise services and events and the chance to connect with people passionate about music across the region.
